FAQs: Frequently Asked Questions
Membership
Q: I applied for membership but have not received my pack yet - why?
A: Verity is run entirely by volunteers. As we do not have a full time office person it can take up to six weeks to process new applications. If you believe you should have received your pack by now, you can email membership@verity-pcos.org.uk.
Discussion Board
Q: I joined Verity but I have not received my username and password to access the Discussion Board
A: Membership to Verity (the charity) is different from registering to use the Discussion Boards that Verity provides. The Discussion Board is free for everyone to use and access, and you must register for this seperately. Membership to the Charity is not free, however it provides you with many benefits and useful information which you can learn more about on the Join Verity page
Q: I registered for the Discussion Board, but I am still waiting for my activation email
A: Many email providers, including free email providers like Google Mail, Yahoo! and Hotmail send email from unrecognised sources to a Spam folder, which is sometimes called Bulk Mail, or Junk Mail and occasionally they block them altogether. If you have checked your Spam folder, and it has been more than one hour since you registered, please contact the Moderators via the contact form who can activate your profile manually. The Moderator's are volunteers, so please be patient and use manual activation as a last resort wherever possible
Q: I have forgotten my password to the Discussion Board and can't login
A: You can reset your password via the Discussion Board control panel
Verity Conferences
Q: I haven't received confirmation of my registration
A: Unfortunately we will be unable to confirm receipt of any registrations that don't include either an email address or a stamped self-addressed envelope.
Q: Will I receive a entry ticket in the post?
A: As Verity is run entirely by volunteers we feel it is not a good use of time and money to send out entry tickets. When you register we add your name to the delegate list, and when you come along on the day we will tick your name off the list and give you your name badge and delegate bag.
Contacting Verity
Q: I want to call Verity but cannot find a telephone number?
A: As the Verity office is not manned on a permanent basis, Verity does not publish a telephone number for contact. You can however contact the office via e-mail at office@verity-pcos.org.uk
Support & Advice
Q: Can you provide me with a list of specialists in my area?
A: Verity is a self-help group for women with PCOS, we are unable to provide you with a list of specialists in your area, however, you may wish to log onto the local groups area on our discussion board where you can contact other women with PCOS in your area who may be able to advise you further.
